Statement of Significance

The majestic Sugar gums along the drive from the Fullarton Road entrance to The Waite Agricultural Research Institute are a remnant of the original avenue planted in 1872 by Peter Waite, a well known SA pastoralist and a great benefactor to the state. They have a high landscape value by creating an imposing parklike effect to the entrance.
